 Jasper County Fire Rescue and Ridgeland Fire Department are searching for hard working, and customer service minded men and women with a passion to make a real difference in the lives of others. We desire to cultivate a highly motivated, effective, and diverse workforce to meet the emergency and non-emergency services needs of the Town of Ridgeland and unincorporated Jasper County. Jasper County Fire Rescue and the Ridgeland Fire Department serves its community through a combination (volunteer/career) workforce. We are looking for volunteers to serve as firefighters, driver/operators, or support personnel, which the latter entails helping firefighters by meeting various needs during emergencies. If you desire to be part of something bigger than yourself, and serve your community, then step up to the challenge and start the process to join our team. 

Jasper County Fire Rescue

·         Be at least 18 years of age

·         Have a valid driver’s license

·         Be healthy and in good physical condition

·         Complete basic fire & EMS training

·         Jasper County Fire Rescue requires volunteers to live in Jasper County or within close proximity of the closest Jasper County Fire Station.

·         Jasper County Fire Rescue is pay-per-call for volunteer responses

·         Jasper County Fire Rescue offers a duty crew program with a stipend for participation.

Ridgeland Fire Department

·         Be at least 18 years of age

Be at least 16 years old to become a “Cadet” (16-18 years old)

·         Have a valid driver’s license

·         Be healthy and in good physical condition

·         Complete basic fire & EMS training

·         Have a clean criminal record

·         Ridgeland Fire Department require all volunteers/cadets to reside within Jasper County.

·         Meet the minimum ongoing training requirements

·         Respond to a certain percentage of calls

Experience is not required to start volunteering today. All training and equipment are provided by the department.

Our application process is multi-phased, consisting of an application, interview, one ride-a-long as an observer, a criminal background check, and free physician’s wellness screening. Upon successful completion of the application process, you will be assigned to Jasper County Fire Rescue or Ridgeland Fire Department as a Probationary Volunteer.
